Damaged Chairs

I traveled with my husband, who is a quadriplegic, and several other wheelchair-bound veterans to the National Veterans Wheelchair Games in Florida. We live in Ohio and going to and from the games had to transfer to two planes each way. Several of the veterans had chairs damaged because of poor handling from the airline staff. From the plane, we could watch out the window how they were loading and unloading the electric wheelchairs and some were literally dropped from a height of about four to five feet from the ground. This happened in more than one airport so it seems that the crews loading and unloading airplanes need much more training on how to load and unload specialized equipment.
