Destroyed Equipment
While flying from Denver, Colorado, to Branson, Missouri, our electric wheelchair controller was destroyed by the airlines. It was working perfect when it was loaded and upon arrival was totally inoperable. When we asked for assistance in getting it replaced, we were told the airline is not responsible for damage, and left to handle the problem on our own in the lobby of the airport. We had to call for cab service to take us to the nearest service center for our chair, which was in a larger town several miles away, with none of the expenses ever being covered by the airlines. This all took a great deal of time and joy from our trip.
