My Incident on United Airlines on 6/25/16

My care provider, three family members, a friend, and I were booked on UA5704 flight departing Los Angeles to Salt Lake City, Utah at 6:40 p.m. The flight was over booked, so vouchers were offered to take a later flight. The vouchers started at $200 and ranged every half hour to $800.

After my family and I were seated, United discovered my wheelchair would not fit through the cargo door. My care provider and I were removed from United and booked on Delta Airlines at 7:10 a.m. on 6/26/16. We were each given a $150 voucher and a $20 meal ticket.

However, the person writing the schedule change wrote the wrong date (7/26/16) when it should have been (6/26/16) FLT 2377 at 7:10 a.m. This mistake caused another delay and schedule change to Delta FLT 1556 at 11:45 a.m.

How I was personally affected: (1) No personal items, (2) No change of clothes because my bags stayed on the original flight, (3) Paid for a hotel room in Utah that I could not cancel without being charged ($199) for the night, (4) $150 voucher is not a one way to San Diego. Our vouchers should have been the $800 that was offered to the public. United knew my needs and requirements two months in advance.
